On World Mental Health Day, 10 October 2021, the World YMCA hosted the third in its series of Youth Led Solutions Summits, on the topic of mental health and wellbeing. The event brought together passionate young people from some 50 countries worldwide, to share their experiences and solutions to tackle the multiple facets of mental health.

On World Mental Health Day, Sunday 10 October 2021 (14:00-17:00 CEST), the YMCA Movement presents its Youth Led Solutions Summits on Mental Health and Wellbeing, the third in a series.  Registration opens on 14 September 2021.

The three-day YMCA Youth-Led Solutions Summit on the Future of Work finished yesterday. But the work has now started for the participants who want to join or form a Solutions Team to respond to the employment needs of young people in their own communities.

Day 2 of the Youth-Led Solutions Summit on the Future of Work focused on the Care Economy and the Green Economy. Our post-COVID world is disrupted, so in this quest for meaningful and decent jobs, caring for one another and caring for the planet is central to how we respond, and overcome so many challenges.

How do we talk about work opportunities and career paths in a post-COVID world, where so many young people have lost their jobs and their hopes? The YMCA Youth-Led Solutions Summit on the Future of Work started on 7 June by giving a main direction: the world has changed, and young people must adapt.

With a week to go until the YMCA Youth-Led Solutions Summit on ‘The Future of Work’, 7-9 June, over 750 people from over 80 countries have registered to take part.

This three-day virtual event will cross time zones to bring together global voices from youth organizations, corporations, public agencies, international organizations, academia and research groups.

Sokthea Phay, a member of the World YMCA’s UN Advocacy Group, highlighted the importance of the Youth-Led Solutions Initiative when he addressed a Ministerial Roundtable at the UN’s ECOSOC Youth Forum on 7 April 2021.

Empowering young people to put their own projects into practice, YMCA’s Youth-Led Solutions Initiative has selected 35 youth-led climate action projects in 20 countries for funding worth a total of $175,000.

World YMCA’s Youth-Led Solutions Initiative is on the point of launching a number of projects worldwide to combat climate change. Seed funding of $1000-$6000 will be allocated for each “Solution” approved; and the work must then be implemented over a three to six month period, and beyond.

On 19 October 2020, World YMCA and its partners launched the first Youth-Led Solutions Summit, as part of its wider new initiative to support young people providing solutions to critical global issues.

Today, YMCA is launching the Youth-Led Solutions initiative, to activate young leaders to address global issues.
